Equality & Anti-Racism

ANTI RACIST STATEMENT

Woodstone’s five school values are at the heart of all we believe and all we do. Two of our values in particular, ‘We Support Each Other’ and ‘We Listen to Different Opinions’ are an absolute priority at Woodstone so that everyone feels safe, welcomed and included. As a result, being an anti-racist school and anti-racist educators is a key priority for us.

We operate a zero-tolerance approach towards ALL discrimination. We believe it is vital to address racism in all its forms and offer our unwavering support to people of all ethnicities within our school community. You can be reassured that all matters of racial discrimination, whether they present overtly or covertly, will be handled with the utmost care, discretion and importance.

Education is a powerful vehicle for change and as such we pledge to:

  • Improve the racial literacy of all our staff
  • Educate the children of Woodstone about racism in all its forms
  • Develop our Anti-Racist policies and procedures to ensure that we all feel proud to belong to an Anti-Racist School
  • Acknowledge racism as an inherent aspect of our safeguarding duty
